About Ava

Chicagoan at birth, a native of Van Buren, Indiana, and currently residing in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Ava Zinn had a promising career as a Special Education teacher due to her experience as a Special Education student, but a psychological/mental injury prematurely ended hopes following her dis-enrollment from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2001. In 2020, she went back to business to complete a course in media production management, yet already had experience in broadcast journalism and television production since 1999. Her dedication and natural talent led her to train with some of Indianapolis and Fort Wayne’s leading personalities.

When Ava was born in Chicago (LaGrange), Illinois on January 4, 1983, her parents were a businesswoman and World War II Navy veteran. At first, Ava resided in the Chicago area, only having lived there for about one year. Then after Ava's father, Willis, died, Ava's mother, Margaret, brother, Albert, and Ava relocated to Mill Township/Gas City for about two years. Ava then resided at her childhood home in the Van Buren "suburb" of Landess where she spent 11 years before moving to Marion, Indiana. After living in Marion for 22 years, on May 14, 2018, she relocated to Fort Wayne yet still calls Van Buren as her hometown.

In 1999, at the age of 16, Zinn set up her first wholly owned website with her namesake (then known as Franky Zinn), which quickly received the most prestigious accolade.

In 2011, at the age of 28, Zinn set up her first wholly-owned namesake, Aeverine Zinn Holdings, which quickly received the most prestigious accolade in the media production world – five stars in 2019.

Since her junior year at Mississinewa High School in Gas City, Indiana, Ava is a broadcast/multimedia journalist, director and producer of film/television, voice actress, singer, host, and a retired webmaster and retailer.

In December 2023, Ava received her Associates Degree in Visual Communications from Ivy Tech Community College - Fort Wayne. During her time at Ivy Tech Fort Wayne, she learned and improved her skills as a broadcast journalist and film/television director/producer working with a former cameraperson at WFFT-TV Fox 55 in Fort Wayne, where she released a trailer to her feature film directorial debut in Caprice & Ella: The Movie, expanded on her journalism skills as a multimedia journalist, and uncovered the Affordable Housing Crisis that was tackled in three Caprice & Ella miniseries called Breaking Boiling Point, as well as learning the ins and outs of the digital media field while continuing to build on her reputation of media perfection.

In January 2024, Ava enrolled at Purdue University Fort Wayne where she is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism.

Aside from her professional history, Ava has been attracted to the television news industry. If she isn't anchoring or reporting on a breaking news story or investigative report or writing scripts/screenplays for television shows or performing, you will likely find Ava doing some do-it-yourself home improvement projects, household chores, spending time with her wife (Breeanna), her daughter (Tabitha), her son (Kenny), twin daughters (Sierra and Lyssa), fraternal twin son and daughter (Leeland and Jessica), and grandchildren (Alisan, Michael II, Leah, Elian, Pia, Christina, DaNica, and Chelsey), watching Indianapolis Colts football, Indiana Fever and Indiana Pacers basketball, college football, various reality shows on TV, etc.

Ava has also become a star of the internet both in the Hoosier state and in the United States, as well as in the United Kingdom, with series such as QUEEN OF THE WILLIS, THE SOUZAS, QUILLSVILLE COLD CASE, CAPRICE & ELLA, as well as the top-rated YouTube channels: AVA ZINN's RETAIL NIGHTMARES, the American and British versions of VOTE FOR THE GIRLS and AvaZinn.com.

Ava has a local partnership with United Way of Grant County and Allen County.
