Caprice & Ella 705 | Terms of Enragement: Preston Pointe Your Luck to Newburyport Apartments (Part 5)

Part five begins as Ava reveals that just 48 hours after moving out of Golfview Apartments, there was a shooting there. She had a strong feeling something like this would happen. The news reports from WANE-TV 15, 21Alive, and Fox 55 Fort Wayne confirm the incident, with police investigating the scene and a suspect, Bobby Brown, being arrested. The victim was initially stable but later downgraded to life-threatening condition. Ava expresses relief at not having to deal with the problematic maintenance supervisor, identified as Brandon Howell, anymore. She mentions the challenges of moving into the new place at Waterloo Gardens Apartments and the minor problems encountered so far, such as the absence of a smoke detector, a bathroom door that didn’t latch, and a light not working while Ava will have to obtain an additional air conditioning unit and weatherstripping. Ava reflects on the necessity of lying to protect oneself from harmful people. As the episode continues, Ava is confronted by Tabitha and Ashli about her alleged unhealthy breakfast choices of Weaver Popcorn and Italian bread pizza with coffee. Ava defends her right to eat what she wants, while Tabitha insists on taking care of her and reminds her to check her blood sugar since Ava is unofficially a Type II diabetic. The conversation shifts to a family feud involving Ava’s sister-in-law and Albert’s ex-girlfriend, Lindsay Sosbe, who Ava criticizes for her political choices and behavior. Despite the tension, Tabitha insists on inviting Lindsay over, leading to a heated exchange when she arrives. Afterwards, Ashli makes a surprising announcement to the family that she is planning to become a surrogate for a gay couple. She explains that she isn’t pregnant yet but will need to fill out forms and undergo medical procedures to prepare for the surrogacy. The family reacts with a mix of surprise and curiosity, with Elian asking questions about the process and Baby Kenny expressing amazement at the financial compensation. Ava is initially concerned, comparing the surrogacy to “selling off one of our grandkids,” but Ashli explains that the money will help her pay off debts and improve her financial situation. Lindsay offers her support, acknowledging the challenges Ashli has faced since her mother’s death and seeing this as an opportunity for Ashli to get back on her feet. Caprice, however, makes a crude comment, which Breeanna quickly reprimands. Ava ultimately supports Ashli’s decision, emphasizing that it is her choice. Afterwards, tension between Tabitha and Baby Kenny escalates the following morning. Ava, off-screen, calls out to Tabitha to clean the dirty dishes, but Tabitha is preoccupied with Baby Kenny, who is clearly upset and tired. Their conversation reveals underlying frustrations and conflicts: (1) Ava calls out to Tabitha to clean the dirty dishes, but Tabitha is distracted by Baby Kenny’s behavior and Ashli does them instead; (2) Baby Kenny, feeling tired and angry, lashes out at Tabitha. He expresses frustration about being watched by Caprice while he sleeps and refuses to go to school; (3) Tabitha reminds Baby Kenny that he usually likes school, but he becomes defiant as the conversation shifts to Baby Kenny’s pregnant 14-year-old girlfriend, Janessa, and her job prospects; (4) Tabitha compares Baby Kenny to Ava in 1993, which further aggravates him. She dismisses his concerns, leading to more heated exchanges; and (5) Tabitha emphasizes the age difference between them, asserting her authority as a 22-year-old adult and Baby Kenny being a 10-year-old boy. Baby Kenny insists he knows what he’s doing, but Tabitha remains skeptical. Tension in the Zinn family continues to escalate further as Ava becomes worried about Baby Kenny skipping school as Ashli and Tabitha try to downplay it, but Ava insists on knowing if he is attending school. Breeanna enters in high spirits, but the mood quickly shifts as Ava prepares to leave for PFW (Purdue University Fort Wayne). Breeanna expresses her need for Ava’s support, but Ava emphasizes the importance of her assignments and tests at the university. A visibly upset Baby Kenny expresses his frustration with strong language as he reveals that he plans to spend the day with his middle school-aged (14-year-old) girlfriend, Janessa, instead of going to school. The argument intensifies as Baby Kenny blames Aunt Lindsay for Janessa’s decision to take an after school job in Detroit, which he believes is causing his problems. He accuses Lindsay of failing to run Concannon’s Donut Shop properly, leading to Janessa’s departure for the motor city and Baby Kenny going with Janessa despite Kenny being 9 years of age. Afterwards, Ava questions Caprice about teaching Baby Kenny to swear, and Caprice nonchalantly admits to it. Ella, off-screen, sarcastically comments on the situation as the episode ends on a cliff-hanger.
